Export a workshop pack

Copy page ▾

A workshop pack puts the manufacturing information for a project in one file. Each file shows the project name, the revision and the units.

KerfCraft does not promise that a workshop pack is correct for cutting. Check every dimension against your own measurements before cutting. Each sheet of the PDF tells you the same.

Download the pack#

  1. In the manufacturing panel, click Whole project, or select parts and click Selection.
  2. Click Pack PDF or Pack XLSX. The button shows Making PDF… or Making XLSX… while KerfCraft makes the file.

When the file downloads, the status bar at the bottom of the window shows Downloaded and the file name. While a file is in progress, the export buttons do not work. If the export fails, the status bar shows the reason.

The file name has the project name and the revision, for example Bookcase-rev12-workshop.pdf.

You do not have to run the optimiser first. The pack calculates its own cutting plan from the model as it is now.

What each file holds#

  • Pack PDF: a title page, the cut list, the BOM, dimensioned part drawings, assembly views, cutting diagrams and the cut sequence.
  • Pack XLSX: one worksheet each for the Cut list, the BOM, the Cutting plan and the Cut sequence.

Rows that need extra checking show the reason, as in the cut list. See Export a cut list.

Read a PDF sheet#

Each sheet of the Pack PDF is an A4 landscape drawing sheet. It has a border and a title block in the bottom-right corner. The title block shows:

  • The KerfCraft logo and the project name.
  • The sheet title and the scope, for example Cut list · Whole project.
  • The sheet number, for example 4 of 12.
  • The scale, the units, the date and the revision. Part drawings and assembly views are not to scale (NTS). Use the dimensions, not a ruler.

Sheets that show parts have a parts list on top of the title block. Each row shows the item letter, the part name, the quantity, the size (length × width × thickness) and the material. The item letters and the part names are the same as in the cut list.

  • Part drawings: six parts on each sheet. The parts list shows these six parts.
  • Assembly views: the parts list shows the parts in that assembly, with the quantity in that assembly. If the assembly has more than eight rows, the parts list is on the next sheet, Parts list — assembly name.
