Terms
Last updated 4 November 2026.
These terms are a contract between you and Goldealers Ltd, trading as KerfCraft ("we", "us"). We are registered in England and Wales, company number 07689632, VAT number GB118310449. Our registered office is 11 De Grey Square, De Grey Road, Colchester, CO4 5YQ. Email hello@kerfcraft.app.
You accept these terms by ticking "I agree" after you first sign in, and again each time you top up. If we make a material change, we ask you to accept again before you continue. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use your personal data. You are a "consumer" if you use KerfCraft mainly for personal purposes, not for your trade or business.
Key points:
- KerfCraft is self-service beta software for drafting designs. It is not a professional design, engineering or manufacturing service, and we do not approve or guarantee your designs.
- You must check every measurement, quantity and cut list before you buy, cut, make or install anything.
- AI credit pays for the AI features only. Paid credit lasts 90 days from your last top-up. Top up before then and your remaining paid credit rolls over for another 90 days. Free credit lasts 30 or 90 days and never rolls over.
- Stripe sells the credit to you as merchant of record.
- AI credit purchases are non-refundable unless the law requires otherwise. Consumers may have a right to cancel within 14 days (section 4).
1. What KerfCraft is
KerfCraft is a self-service design application. You can create, edit and export designs with our free CAD tools, and produce cut lists, cutting plans, bills of materials and drawings. The CAD tools are free for personal use. We do not offer business plans yet, so during the beta business use is free too. If we introduce a paid plan for business use, we will give you at least 30 days' notice. We will never charge for use you have already made for free. The AI assistant can suggest or make changes to your designs, and can make AI images.
KerfCraft is not a professional design, engineering, architectural or manufacturing service. We do not approve, certify or guarantee your designs. KerfCraft does not check safety or compliance with building regulations.
KerfCraft is in beta. Features can change or be removed. The service can be unavailable, and AI requests can fail. Save your projects to your own files often.
2. Your account
- You sign in with a Google account. Keep it secure, and tell us at once if you think someone else is using it.
- You must be 18 or over to hold an account or buy credit. A younger person may use KerfCraft only on a parent's or guardian's account, with their permission and supervision. That adult is responsible for the use and for any credit spent.
- Access is by invitation, or open to everyone when we choose. A Founding Maker invite works only for the Google account with the invited email address. An invite may include free credit.
- You can close your account at any time by emailing us.
3. AI credit and prices
Credit pays for the AI assistant and AI images only. Modelling, drawings, cut lists and exports do not use credit. Paid credit covers the cost of AI processing, not the delivery of a finished design.
What you pay and what you get. Top-ups are fixed packs priced in US dollars. The current packs are listed at kerfcraft.app/pricing. The price includes any VAT or sales tax. Your credit is the price less that tax. For example, if you pay $15 and 20% UK VAT applies, $2.50 is tax and you get $12.50 of credit. Stripe may show the price in your currency, and your card issuer may charge a conversion fee. Your credit is always worked out from the US dollar price.
What a request costs. Each AI request costs what the AI provider charges us, multiplied by our markup for that model. The pricing page shows the current rate for each model, including our markup. The exact cost depends on how much the model reads and writes, so we only know it after the request. The app shows what each request cost.
AI credit and expiry. Your paid AI credit lasts 90 days from your last top-up. If you top up at least $15 before it expires, your entire remaining paid balance rolls over for another 90 days from that top-up. Free credit, for example from an invite, lasts 30 or 90 days from when we give it, as we tell you at the time. Free credit never rolls over. Credit you have not used when it expires is lost. You may use your credit across as many projects as you like. There are no subscriptions or automatic charges. We do not send a reminder before credit expires. We spend free credit first, oldest first, then paid credit, oldest first. If a top-up is cancelled or charged back in full, it does not roll over your earlier credit. Your account menu shows when your next credit expires. You can continue using KerfCraft's free CAD tools without paid credit.
- You need a balance of at least $0.20 to start a request.
- A request can cost more than your balance. Your balance then goes below zero, and your next top-up pays that off first. We will not charge you for it in any other way.
- AI requests use computing resources and can give incorrect, incomplete or unusable results. We charge for AI processing by usage, not by whether the result meets your expectations. A completed request uses credit even if you decide not to use its output.
- If our service fails to provide the processing you paid for, contact us. Your legal rights still apply.
- An AI safety model checks each restyle prompt first. That check is charged, even if the prompt is refused.
- Credit cannot be exchanged for cash, except where a refund is due. You cannot transfer or sell it.
- Prices can change at any time. We can change our markup, and AI providers can change their prices. Before you send a request, the assistant shows the selected model's current price per million input and output tokens, including our markup. A change applies only to requests sent after it. You decide whether to send a request at the price shown.
4. Payment, cancelling and refunds
Who does what. Stripe's affiliate Sold Through Link, LLC ("Onelink") sells you the credit as merchant of record, under Stripe's buyer terms, which you accept at checkout. Your card statement may show Onelink or Link. Stripe takes payment, collects tax, sends receipts, and handles payment questions, refunds and chargebacks. We provide KerfCraft and its AI features, and we answer questions about them and your credit. Your consumer rights against us still apply.
Cancellations and refunds. AI credit purchases are non-refundable unless the law requires otherwise or these terms say so (section 9). Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
Cancelling within 14 days (consumers). You may have a statutory right to cancel a top-up within 14 days after the day you buy it, without giving a reason. Whether that right continues after AI processing begins depends on the applicable law and any consent and acknowledgement you provide. Each time you top up, you tick a box to agree to these terms and to ask for your credit to start straight away, and we record it. If you cancel while the right applies, you get a refund for the part of that top-up you have not used. To cancel, email us; you can use the form below, but you do not have to.
How a refund is worked out. We work out each top-up separately. You get back the same share of what you paid, including tax, as the share of that top-up's credit you have not used. For example, you pay $15 and get $12.50 of credit. If $2.50 of it is spent, 80% is unused, so you get $12 back.
Stripe. Stripe, as merchant of record, handles payment refunds through Link. Refunds may also be issued under Stripe's applicable policies.
Refund processing. We will arrange any refund due to you within the time required by law. Stripe processes the refund to your original payment method. Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to make the funds available.
Credit after a refund or chargeback. When a purchase is refunded, we remove the credit linked to the refunded amount. If that credit has already been spent, your balance may become negative, and future top-ups may first cover that amount. This does not apply where the refund is a remedy for our failure to provide the service or where the law requires otherwise.
Model cancellation form. To Goldealers Ltd (KerfCraft), 11 De Grey Square, De Grey Road, Colchester, CO4 5YQ, hello@kerfcraft.app: I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract for the supply of the following service: KerfCraft AI credit top-up of ___ (amount and currency paid), ordered on ___. Name; address; the email address of my KerfCraft account; signature (only if on paper); date.
5. Acceptable use
Use KerfCraft for design work. Do not:
- use the AI to create illegal, harmful, hateful or abusive content, or sexual, deceptive or degrading images of real people;
- upload or describe anything you do not have the right to use;
- try to extract the assistant's instructions, or get round its limits or safety checks;
- use the assistant as a general chatbot for things unrelated to your designs;
- scrape KerfCraft, call its services automatically, or overload them;
- break the law or anyone else's rights.
Rate limits apply to the AI features. We check restyle prompts automatically and may refuse some.
6. Your designs
- You keep the rights you have in the designs and other content you create or upload. We do not claim ownership of your designs or of AI output made for you.
- We cannot promise that AI output is protected by copyright, unique to you, or free of other people's rights.
- You allow us to copy, store and send your content to our service providers, including the AI providers named in the Privacy Policy, only to run KerfCraft for you, keep it secure and meet our legal duties.
- You confirm that you have the right to use anything you upload.
- Your projects are stored in your browser and in any .kerf files you save. We do not keep copies. Clearing your browser's data can delete them, so save your own copies (File → Save).
- The KerfCraft software and brand belong to us or our licensors.
7. Your designs and responsibility
KerfCraft is a self-service design tool. You create and control your own projects. The CAD editor is free. Optional AI features use paid credit to process your requests.
You choose your inputs, prompts and AI models. The assistant may create or change parts of your design, but its output may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable for your purpose. Automated checks can miss errors. AI images can look different from your actual design.
You are responsible for your designs and how you use them, including any AI-generated content you accept.
KerfCraft does not independently verify or certify your work. Before you order materials, cut, make or install anything, or pay someone else to, you must check:
- all measurements and dimensions, against your own measurements of the space and the materials;
- drawings, cut lists, cutting plans and bills of materials;
- material sizes, thicknesses and quantities;
- fit, joints, tolerances and clearances;
- strength, load capacity, fixings and structural safety;
- that the design suits your intended use and location;
- safety, and compliance with building regulations and other rules that apply.
You decide whether to order materials, cut, manufacture, assemble or install anything based on your designs. Treat every output as a draft for you to check, not as instructions ready for a supplier or workshop. If you send an output to a timber merchant, cutting service or contractor, you must check it first. Where a design could affect a building or put people at risk, get advice from a qualified professional.
8. No guarantee of results, and responsibility for loss
No guarantee of results. KerfCraft provides drafting tools and AI processing, not professional design, engineering or manufacturing services. We do not guarantee that a design, calculation, cut list or AI output is accurate, safe, complete, fit for purpose or suitable for manufacture. AI processing may use paid credit even when the result is incorrect, incomplete or unusable. Your legal rights still apply if the paid service itself is not supplied as required by law.
Responsibility for losses. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses arising from your designs, your use of AI-generated output, or your decisions to manufacture or construct anything from them. This includes:
- materials ordered or cut to the wrong size or quantity, and wasted materials;
- cutting, fabrication, assembly or installation errors;
- charges from suppliers, cutting services, fabricators, contractors or carriers;
- installation and labour costs;
- removing, repairing, replacing or redoing work;
- project delays and extra purchases;
- lost profits.
We are not responsible for losses caused by your failure to independently check and approve your designs before real-world use. For example, a cut list shows the wrong width for a panel. You order pre-cut boards without checking that width against your own measurements. We are not responsible for the cost of those boards.
What we cannot exclude. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including mandatory consumer rights, fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
If you are a consumer. The paragraphs above apply only as far as consumer law allows. We must supply KerfCraft with reasonable care and skill, and as described. If we do not, you have legal rights, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and these terms do not take them away. Its beta status and price affect what you can reasonably expect. If we break these terms or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for foreseeable loss you suffer as a result. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses such as lost profit. If faulty digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content because we did not use reasonable care and skill, we will repair it or pay you fair compensation.
If you use KerfCraft for business. During the beta we supply KerfCraft as it is. As far as the law allows, we exclude all implied terms about its quality, accuracy and fitness for purpose. We are not responsible for:
- the losses listed above, even if an error in KerfCraft caused them;
- lost profit, revenue, business, contracts or goodwill, or business interruption;
- lost or damaged data;
- any indirect or consequential loss.
Our total liability to a business for all claims is limited to the greater of £100 and the total price paid for your KerfCraft credit in the 12 months before the claim arose. This includes credit bought through Stripe.
9. Changes and ending
We may change these terms for good reasons, such as new features, changes in the law or security. Price changes follow section 3 instead. If a change is to your disadvantage, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not accept it, you can stop using KerfCraft and we will refund your unused paid credit. The date at the top shows the current version.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. We will tell you why. If we close your account for any other reason, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and refund your unused paid credit. The exception is an account nobody has used: we delete an account after 6 months on the waitlist without accepting an invite or signing in, and after 12 months without signing in. Any paid credit has expired by then.
We may end the beta, KerfCraft or its AI features. Where we can, we will give you at least 30 days' notice. We will refund your unused paid credit.
When your account closes, its credit ends. If you close it yourself, unused credit is lost unless the law gives you a right to a refund. Your projects stay in your browser and your saved files.
10. Complaints and law
Email complaints to hello@kerfcraft.app. We will reply within 14 days. If we cannot settle your complaint, we will tell you whether we will use an alternative dispute resolution provider.
The law of England and Wales governs these terms. Its courts can hear any dispute. If you are a consumer elsewhere in the UK, you can also go to your local courts. If you are a consumer outside the UK, you keep the mandatory consumer protections of your country and can bring a claim there.
If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies. Only you and we have rights under these terms. We may transfer our rights and duties to another organisation, but this will not reduce your rights.
