Move round the 3D view
You can turn, slide and zoom the 3D view with the mouse. If you cannot find the design, one click or key shows all of it again.
Turn, slide and zoom#
- To orbit, use the ↖ Select tool and drag. The view turns about the point under the pointer.
- To pan, hold Shift and drag, or drag with the right mouse button. The ✋ Pan tool (H) pans with a left drag.
- To zoom, turn the mouse wheel. The view zooms to the pointer.
See the whole design again#
- Click ⌂ in the buttons at the top of the 3D view. Or press Shift+Z or Home.
The view shows the whole design from the front corner, at an angle.
If the design is out of the view for more than about 1.5 seconds, a note shows: "Lost? Press Shift+Z or click ⌂ to see the whole design". The note goes when the design is in the view again. The note also shows when the design is very small in the distance.
Zoom to the selection#
- Select one or more items.
- Click Fit, or press F.
The view zooms to the selected items. It keeps the direction that you look from. If nothing is selected, Fit shows the whole design.
Look from one side#
- Click View ▾.
- Select front, back, left, right, top or iso (angled).
Fit the plan view#
In the plan view, click ⌂, or press Shift+Z or Home. The plan zooms to show all of the model, and the DXF underlay if you loaded one.
For all the keys, see Keyboard shortcuts.
