# Export a cut list

Download the cut list as a CSV or JSON file, and find the parts that need extra checking.

The cut list is in the manufacturing panel at the bottom of the window. If the panel is closed, click **▲** (**Toggle manufacturing panel**) to open it.

KerfCraft does not promise that a cut list is correct for cutting. Check every dimension against your own measurements before cutting.

## Choose what the cut list covers

The **Selection** and **Whole project** buttons set what the cut list, cutting plan, BOM and exports cover.

- To export the full project, click **Whole project**.
- To export only some parts, select them in the model or the hierarchy, then click **Selection**.

## Download the cut list

1. Click the **Cut list** tab.
2. Click **CSV** or **JSON**.

When the file downloads, the status bar at the bottom of the window shows **Downloaded** and the file name.

The file name has the project name and the revision, for example `Bookcase-rev12-cutlist.csv`.

The CSV file starts with comment lines that begin with `#`. They give the project name, the revision, the units and the instruction to check every dimension. Sizes are in the project units. The same sizes in millimetres are in the `length_mm`, `width_mm` and `thickness_mm` columns. Warnings and parts that are not in the cut list are comment lines at the end.

To change the project units, see [Change the units and the region](/docs/how-to/projects/change-the-units-and-the-region/).

## Find the parts that need extra checking

Some parts use features that the independent tests of KerfCraft do not cover. These rows show **⚠** and a reason in the **Needs extra checking** column. The CSV file has the same column.

Above the table, a line tells you how many rows need extra checking. For example, a turned part gives "Turned profile: blank size only". A generated part that you edited by hand gives "Hand-edited generated part".

For each flagged row, read the reason. Then measure and mark that part from your own drawing before you cut it.

## Find the parts that are not in the cut list

Click the **Warnings** tab. It shows each warning, and each component that is not in the cut list with the reason.
