# Make drawing sheets

Get plans, elevations, sections and schedules from a room or house model, and export them as PDF or DXF.

KerfCraft makes architectural drawing sheets from the model. When you change the model, the sheets change too. The **Drawings…** button does not show in furniture design projects.

The sheets are advisory design drawings. They are not a Building Regulations or planning submission. Check every dimension against your own measurements before you build.

## Open the sheets

1. Click **Drawings…** in the toolbar.
2. Click a sheet in the list to see it.

The set contains these sheets:

- A floor plan for each level, with doors, windows, room names, areas and dimensions.
- The North, East, South and West elevations.
- One sheet for each section line.
- **Door, window and room schedules**.

## Set the paper, scale and style

Use the lists at the top of **Drawing sheets**:

- **Paper**: A3 or A1.
- **Scale**: 1:50 or 1:100. If a view does not fit the paper at that scale, all the sheets use the next standard scale that fits, for example 1:200.
- **Style**: Standard (black on white), Blueprint or Pencil. The style changes the preview and the PDF. It does not change the DXF.

KerfCraft saves these settings with the project.

## Add a section

1. Click **+ Section**.

KerfCraft adds a section across the middle of the building, looking north.

## Put a section line where you want it

1. Click **Section line…**.
2. Type a **Name** of 1 to 3 characters, for example `B`. The sheet is then **Section B–B**.
3. Type the **Start** of the line as plan coordinates x, y, for example `1000, 2000`.
4. Type the **End** of the line in the same way.
5. Click **Add section**.

The cut is vertical, from **Start** to **End**. The section looks to the left as you go from **Start** to **End**. For example, a line from west to east looks north. Type both points, or leave both empty for a cut across the middle. The line must be at least 100 mm long. You type coordinates in the display unit of the project.

Sections that you do not name get the labels A, B, C and so on.

## Remove a section

1. In **Remove section…**, select the section, for example **B–B**.

KerfCraft removes the section line and its sheet. This list shows only when the drawings have a section.

The assistant can also add a section. For example: "Add a section through the stair, looking east."

## Export the sheets

- To get a PDF with one page for each sheet, click **Export PDF set**.
- To get a DXF for a CAD app, click **Export DXF**.

While KerfCraft makes the PDF, the button shows **Making PDF…**. When the file downloads, the status bar shows **Downloaded** and the file name.

The file name has the project name and the model revision, for example `House-rev12-drawings.pdf`. Each sheet also shows the revision it was made from.

The DXF puts all the sheets side by side, in paper millimetres. It uses separate layers for walls, doors, windows, dimensions, text and hatching.
