# Open a sample project

Open one of the ready-made sample designs to look at it or to start from it.

KerfCraft has sample projects for furniture, rooms and a house. Each sample opens as a new draft. Your changes do not change the sample.

1. Select **File ▸ Sample projects**.
2. To see the description of a sample, move the pointer over it.
3. Select the sample.

The sample opens in the isometric view. A room sample opens in x-ray, so you can see the furniture inside.

To keep your changes to a sample, save it by name. See [Save a project](/docs/how-to/projects/save-a-project/).

The samples are:

- **Bookcase**
- **Fitted wardrobe**
- **Kitchen base cabinet**
- **C24 stud partition with door**
- **Under-stairs cupboard**
- **Alcove shelving**
- **Workbench (drawn by hand)**
- **Bedroom with wardrobe**
- **Two-storey house**
